The 12th Presidents’ Platform Meeting on “Internationalization of Higher Education” took place on April 15, 2024. Prof dr Piet Van Hove, the President of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), shared insights about the challenges and opportunities of internationalization for universities and the role of scholarly associations. Following a overview of the main developments about internationalization in higher education, the focus of the discussion moved on to some of the challenges (e.g., decolonization of course content) and opportunities (e.g., online collaboration between studies across different continents). The EAIE welcomes the contact from the IFSAM members to develop joint initiatives about internationalization in higher education.
