winner: Prof. Brian Tjemkes
The International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM) is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural Award for Excellence and Innovation in Management Pedagogy. On this occasion, the award, which celebrates excellent, impactful pedagogy in the field of business and management from around the world, is made to Prof. Brian Tjemkes for the “Leading for Better programme” at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The programme represents a co-creation between the School of Business and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, ABN AMRO Bank N.V., and partner organizations BTS, Headspring Executive Development, THT Consulting and Phyleon.
The recipients apply the principles of action learning using an innovative design thinking-agile method approach to help accelerate learner progress in a practice-immersed leadership programme. At the core of this programme is an executive education design framework focused on rapidly addressing both learning and progress barriers and opportunities by applying agile cycles in the application of theory-practice co-created learning solutions. The learning outcomes facilitate rapid leadership skill development and capacity building to address the dynamism of modern management environments in an agile way.
We congratulate the winner and we wish him continued success.
We thank the GA Awards’ Committee and its Chair, Michael Morley, as well as the members of the selection panels, for the evaluation process performed and for their outstanding and continued service to the Federation.
