IFSAM Award for Excellence in Societal Management Research

The International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural Award for Excellence in Societally Relevant Management Scholarship.
On this occasion, the award, which aims to encourage scholars to prioritize research which serves society, is jointly made to Professor Tima Bansal, Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada, and Professor emeritus Romain Laufer, HEC, Paris.
IFSAM celebrates Professor Bansal for the tradition in which she is working, the phenomena addressed in her work, and the body of societally relevant, impactful scholarship mostly around sustainability that she has produced.
IFSAM applauds Professor Romain Laufer for the multidisciplinary inherent in his scholarship, the critically important issues it addresses such as major societal risks, and the impressive body of scholarship that it has yielded.

IFSAM Award for Excellence in Indigenous Management Scholarship
winner: Prof. Arcelia Toledo López
The International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM) is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural Award for Excellence in Indigenous Management Scholarship. On this occasion, the award, which aims to encourage, recognize and celebrate outstanding indigenous research in the field of business and management, is presented to Professor Arcelia Toledo López, a researcher at the of the National Polytechnic Institute and professor of graduate programmes in the conservation and use of natural resources, Oaxaca, Mexico. IFSAM celebrates Professor Toledo for her work with artisan and agricultural producers in Mexico to develop and sustain rural and indigenous sectors that are of immense importance to their communities.

IFSAM Award for Excellence and Innovation in Management Pedagogy
winner: Prof. Brian Tjemkes
The International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM) is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural Award for Excellence and Innovation in Management Pedagogy. On this occasion, the award, which celebrates excellent, impactful pedagogy in the field of business and management from around the world, is made to Prof. Brian Tjemkes for the “Leading for Better programme” at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The programme represents a co-creation between the School of Business and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, ABN AMRO Bank N.V., and partner organizations BTS, Headspring Executive Development, THT Consulting and Phyleon.
The recipients apply the principles of action learning using an innovative design thinking-agile method approach to help accelerate learner progress in a practice-immersed leadership programme. At the core of this programme is an executive education design framework focused on rapidly addressing both learning and progress barriers and opportunities by applying agile cycles in the application of theory-practice co-created learning solutions. The learning outcomes facilitate rapid leadership skill development and capacity building to address the dynamism of modern management environments in an agile way.

IFSAM Award for Exceptional Service to the Management Field Worldwide

The International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM) is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural Award for Exceptional Service to the Management Field Worldwide. On this occasion, the award, which recognises significant and enduring service to the management scholarly community worldwide, is jointly bestowed to Professor emeritus Jean-François Chanlat, PSL Université Paris-Dauphine, France and Professor Pawan Budhwar, Aston Business School, UK.
Professor Jean-François Chanlat is recognised for his passionate engagement with, and outstanding contributions to the development of the management field in France, Canada, Africa and Latin America, and for his promotion and defence of a diverse and plural scholarship, thematically and linguistically.
Professor Pawan Budhwar is recognised for his outstanding leadership in building collegiality, community, and capacity in the British Academy of Management and in the Indian Academy of Management, where he served as Co-Founder and First President.
